The area of Monteverde Vecchio is located on the west bank of the Tiber river. It is an area of modern residential and commercial development in which the housing dates from the 1950s-60s. You will find numerous supermarkets as well as some open markets and shops. To enjoy nice walks in green open spaces you can find close by the beautiful Villa Pamphili as well as Villa Sciarra. To reach the historical centre there are excellent public transports (for example the n°8 that “bring” you straight in Largo Argentina), both by bus and tram. There is also a very good train service at Trastevere Train Station. In Trastevere, which is next to Monteverde, you will enjoy walking through pretty cobblestones streets full of cafés, restaurants, cinemas, theatres and arts and crafts open stalls.
