The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is the longest running (over 60 years) and most famous music festival in Italy and takes place from May to early July each year. With its own internationally recognised orchestra and dance company, MaggioDanza put on a variety of operas, ballet performances and concert each years, with a line-up that few other festivals can even come close to. During the last few days of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival there is always a free-for-all dance celebration, usually held in Piazza Signoria. Ballet performances also take place during the Maggio Fiorentino festival, at various venues, throughout the year
Festivals and Events in Florence
