Besides being rich in art and history, Florence offers numerous opportunities for entertainment, with many clubs and discoteques, mainly thanks to the many international and italian students who come to Florence to study!! Even though the majority of the clubs and discos are located in the centre of the town, around the Duomo and the other famous squares of the city, there are also many venues on the outskirts and on the other the side of the river (Oltrarno) and towards the Cascine Park that should definitely not be missed out.
The full range of "clubdom" is here, featuring punk to pop to commercial dance, as well as latin discos offering shows and lessons, to full live rock performances and classic, soft soul. Clubs usually open between 10 and 11pm, with fashionable people arriving fashionably after midnight. Though Florence isn't known for its happening late-late-night scene, there's plenty of action around being full of the young and the hip!!.
