Milan Linate International Airport - (LIN)
Milan is served by two large airports, Milan Malpensa Airport, which handles mainly international flights, and the smaller Linate airport, near Milan, and served by mainly domestic and intra-European flights.
In general, flying into Milan, tends to be a relatively hassle-free experience as long as your flight does not land very late at night when public transport connections can be few and far between.
The Milan Linate airport is located 4 miles east of the city centre handles mainly domestic flights and daily flights to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid and Frankfurt. Major airlines include Air Europe, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, KLM, Lufthansa, Meridiana, Virgin and many more.
Connections to the city are numerous however there are no train connections.

The STAM coach service, from the Central Station, Piazza Luigi di Savoia in Milan departs roughly every half-hour from 5.40 to 21.35 and takes around 25 minutes.

There are two bus lines serving the Milan Linate Airport - the ATM bus runs regularly throughout the day from 05:30 until 21:00, connecting to Milan Central Station. Buses also leave regularly for Piazza San Babila metro station; the journey takes around 30 minutes and is cheap. This service departs every 20 minutes between 05:00 and 21:00. Tickets can be bought on-board or at the bar in the departures terminal.
There is also a coach shuttle service linking the Milano Malpensa and Linate airports (journey time 1 hour 15 minutes), and the main bus station in Milan. There are ten services daily.
By taxi:
There are plenty of authorised taxis at the taxi stand in front of the airport. A taxi ride from the airport into the centre of Milan takes around 20 minutes (traffic permitting).
By car:
The city of Milan is easy to reach by car and has excellent links via the Autostrada (motorway) 8, which leads to northern Milan and Autostrada 4, which leads to Milan and to Novara, west of Milan. Directions to other parts of Italy are well signposted, so just follow the signs.
